Vebbestrup Church

Vebbestrup Church, a beautifully preserved medieval church in the heart of Himmerland, is a tranquil oasis with a fascinating history waiting to be explored.

Vebbestrup Church is a medieval church built of granite blocks, with a late Gothic heavily rebuilt west tower and porch from the 1880s-90s.

The unusually long choir doesn't appear to have been extended at any point. The north door can still be glimpsed. A simple loose monolith lintel has been preserved. A remarkable vault is visible in the choir.

The church's altarpiece is carpentry work from the Renaissance in the early 17th century. The baptismal font is new and heavily recut. The pulpit dates back to the 18th century.
