Vindblæs Church

Vindblæs Church, with its medieval architecture and tranquil atmosphere, is a historical gem in Himmerland.

In the tower wall of Vindblæs Church, there is an intriguing relief carving of almost a meter in size. The peculiar figure is thought to represent a lion, but it is uncertain why the stone is turned upside down. An old tradition tells that Judgment Day will come if the stone is turned over.

In the panels of the west pulpit, there are a series of fine paintings with biblical themes. The altarpiece depicts the crucifixion and was painted by A. Dorph.

The pulpit dates back to 1626 and features allegorical images of virtues.

The church is gladly opened by appointment with the sexton.
